His debut album, 처음처럼 (Like the Beginning) was launched in April of 2001.
He has produced
7 full albums and a host of other collaborations with
other artistes. In November 2007, a compliation of his widely popular songs, was released in Japan , under BMG (Japan) Label.
His Japanese version of
계절이 돌아오듯이 was flawless.
Si Kyung released his first digital single "한번 더 이별" on 12 October 2007.
It was initially available for online purchase only, but due to his fans' persistent requests, it was later packaged and
distributed in CD format.
Sung Si Kyung received his basic education at
SaeHwa High School and had a Masters in Mass Communication from
Graduate
School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Korea University.
Between October 2005 and May 2008, Sung Si Kyung's soothing voice can be heard through late night radio waves on
his popular daily radio programme on MBC FM4U.
푸른 밤 그리고 성시경입니다
(Blue Night with Sung Si Kyung)" was a 2-hour programme, focused on interviews with fellow artistes and Live Chat and
dedication segments. On 12 May 2008, Sung DJ signed off from his last Blue Night broadcast in preparation for
his upcoming album as well as impending national service.
Si Kyung released his final pre-army album '
Here In My Heart'
on 12 June 2008. The theme of separation echoes heavily throughout the ballad-centric production.
On 20 June 2008, Sung Si Kyung received his enrollment notice to report for mandatory military service. He joined the 102nd
draft stationed at Chuncheon of Kangwon province on 1 July 2008. He was finally discharged on 17 May 2010
Following the army discharge, he took a short break and started preparing for his new
7th album - First 처음, which was released on 15 Sep 2011.
This album took him 3years to produce as he had the intention to start afresh, like the beginning, after 10yrs of debut in this industry.
His nation-wide concert tour kickstarted on 8th Oct 2011 through 12th Nov 2011 for 6 cities - Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Daejon, Jeju & Seoul.
As a Radio Enthusiast, he went back to MBC Radio on 1 June 2011 to host the daily
FM 음악도시 성시경입니다
- FM4U Music City program, admist his busy schedule.
